Educational Excellence and Curriculum Innovation

DACUM | SCID | Digital Learning | Agri-BDS Certification

The Technical Hub is the knowledge engine of the AGRA-KBS Ecosystem Project. Over 33 months, KBS is developing and delivering BDS competency training for agri-entrepreneurs across Nigeria. Curriculum development is grounded in two internationally recognized methodologies — DACUM and SCID — ensuring every professional trained through this programme carries competencies directly responsive to the real-world demands of Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

DACUM Occupational Analysis — Defining the Agri-BDSP Profession

DACUM (Developing A CurriculUM) is a structured, expert-panel methodology for occupational analysis. A DACUM panel of experienced Agri-BDS practitioners convened to define the precise duties, tasks, and sub-tasks that characterize a competent Agri-BDS Provider. The resulting occupational profile serves as the definitive competency map on which all training content is built, ensuring that professional are immediately field-ready and meet the standards expected by agri-entrepreneurs, investors, and government bodies alike.

SCID Curriculum Development — From Occupational Profile to Professional Training

Building directly on the DACUM occupational profile, the Systematic Curriculum Instructional Design (SCID) methodology transforms identified competency requirements into rigorously structured training modules. Every learning unit addresses a validated competency gap, employs appropriate instructional strategies, and incorporates objective-referenced assessment instruments. The result is an evidence-based Agri-BDS curriculum that delivers measurable, verifiable competency outcomes — a credential of genuine value for agri-entrepreneurs and employers across Nigeria.

Technical Sessions for Academic Materials Development

In addition to the DACUM and SCID frameworks, KBS facilitated a dedicated series of technical working sessions to develop the academic materials at the core of the Agri-BDS training programme. These sessions brought together subject-matter experts, curriculum designers, and industry practitioners to produce course content that is contextually grounded, technically accurate, and aligned with the real needs of agri-entrepreneurs across Nigeria. The materials produced through these sessions form the instructional backbone of all courses now hosted on the KBS LMS.
